Be MORE

I constantly felt (as I suppose many an ambitious girl has felt) a thumping from within unanswered by any beckoning from without. – Anna Julia Cooper
Every day I try to make one simple goal, #Be_More. The goal is not to be more than my favorite celebrity, or more than my neighbor, or more than my parents or even more than my peers. The goal is to be more than I was the day before.
Today I’m encouraging you like I encourage myself. I want to encourage you to follow your natural instinct to increase and grow. Progression is your default setting. As long as you are breathing, you are becoming more of one thing or another. Intentionally being more is a daily practice that grows and develops over time. The most fantastic thing about it is that you already have everything you need to start. There is no need to wait to start this journey. There are no prerequisite tests that you must pass. The second powerful thing about this is that the degree and rate to which you become is up to you. You shape the direction and pace with the decisions, actions and choices you make or do not make.
“Do you know what happens, to wildlife when left alone from intellectual minds? It thrives, because thriving is its default setting. Just look at a forest. And do you know what happens to wildlife when given just a little direction by intellectual minds? It still thrives, because thriving is its default setting. Just look at a rose garden.”(From Universe Notes by Mike Dooley)
The blades of grass in one garden has the same tendency to grow as it does in any garden. What differs is the direction and strength and rate at which those blades grow. When they have an intentional gardener that won’t allow weeds or insects to negatively impact its cultivation.
It is the nature of all living things to seek to expand, increase, thrive, and Be MORE. From the smallest microbe, bacteria, plants, animals and people.   We all want to Be More. Although we don’t think of ideas as living things they are very much a life force and they seek to become more. There is not a single thought or idea that lives within you that does not seek to live outside of our minds and hearts. So, big or small, good or bad there is an innate desire to increase and increase it will. Daily you become more. The question is more of what? As conscious gardeners of our mind we cultivate and nourish those ideas and characteristics that we want to bloom. We need only to look into the garden of our life (circumstances and relationships) to see what thoughts and ideas we have been cultivating and nourishing.
Today… I’m challenging you to be intentional about what you will be MORE of.
