The Burden of Brilliance
The challenge with being able to do whatever you put your mind to, is that sometime we try to do all of the things we put our mind to all at once. This creates overwhelm and often leads to getting absolutely nothing done at all.
I’m writing this article because I know that you are brilliant. It is your brilliance that inspires and humbles you. It is your brilliance that talks you into things and talks you out of them.
One of the burdens of being brilliant is that you are never allowed to really say you’re brilliant. Humility seems to be of higher value than self-confidence. If you dare acknowledge your magnificence you are thought of cocky. What brilliant people tend to do is play small so as not to upset the status quo. In asking others permission before we shine bright we become sleeping giants.
Let me be one of the first to tell you there is just as much value in confidence as there is humility. give yourself permission to shine, glow and even elevate should the mood suit you. By all means, toot your own horn and sound it loud.
Let us not be one of those who toil away each day in service only to be a self-made martyr that becomes bitter and angry when others do not recognize, promote or celebrate our brilliance. You should celebrate you. Don’t wait for anyone else to give you permission to tell you it’s time to celebrate you.
Take a moment to brag a little today. Share your brilliance with us and others in the comment section below.
